Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi is set to launch Redmi 9 smartphone in its home country on June 24. The smartphone will be launched in Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi series, the company confirmed on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo at 10 am local time (7.30 am IST).
As per online reports, the Redmi 9 smartphone is expected to launch in three storage options of 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
To recall, the handset was launched in Europe earlier this month at a starting price of 149 euros (Rs 12,800 roughly) where it is already up for sale.
Redmi 9 specs
The Redmi 9 smartphone from Xiaomi comes with a 6.53-inch full HD+ display (1080×2340 pixel resolution). It comes powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor and internationally comes in two storage options of 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a 512GB microSD card support also in the handset.
The smartphone offers four cameras on the back that includes a 13MP main sensor with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, 8MP 118° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP depth, and 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Backed by a 5020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, the Redmi 9 smartphone runs MIUI 12, which is based on Android 10 operating system.
The smartphone has been launched in three colour options — Ocean Green, Sunset Purple, and Carbon Gray and offers dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and USB Type C in terms of connectivity.
