A little more than a week ago, WhatsApp announced new features that were coming to its primary app and now it has announced new features that are coming to the WhatsApp Business app.
The company is rolling out QR codes support to the Business app, thereby allowing people the option to contact them easily. With the new feature, people will be able to scan QR codes of a business to save its contacts details. These QR codes can be placed inside the stores, product packaging or receipt to initiate a chat.
Once users scan the QR code of a business, the app will open a chat with an optional pre-populated message created by the business to start the conversation, said WhatsApp.
The option to use QR codes for business is already live for businesses globally starting today.
The next feature that is coming for businesses on WhatsApp is Catalog sharing. This feature will enable business owners to showcase and share the goods or services they offer as now they will be able to share links of catalogues and individual items available that can be shared on websites, Facebook, Instagram and elsewhere.
In case users wish to share a catalogue or item they find with friends or family, they will get the option to copy the link and send it on WhatsApp or other places as well.
Also, the company will be rolling out an ‘Open for Business’ sticker pack that includes 20 animated designs to “help people and businesses stay connected, say thanks and get business done.”
The pack includes stickers that say ‘out of stock’, ‘sale’, ‘closing soon’, ’sorry, closed’ ‘address please’, ‘free delivery’, ‘back in stock’, among others to make it easier for companies to be able to communicate with potential customers.
