Microsoft is rumoured to launch its dual-display smartphone, called Surface Duo, in July and ahead of the launch, several leaks and rumours have already surfaced online. The device was earlier expected to come with stylus support and now, the latest images posted by Frank X. Shaw, lead of communications for Microsoft on Twitter further confirms it.
Going by the photos shared by Shaw, the Surface Duo smartphone can be seen housed in a rounded rubbered White colour case and a stylus pen. Which, by looks, resembles exactly similar to Surface Slim Pen that the company is shipping with its Surface Pro X 2-in-1 convertible device.
The Surface Duo screen in the images shows an open Microsoft OneNote app taking advantage of both the screens with some recipe written on it. What’s noticeable here is that the OneNote screen also has some handwritten text on it, which confirms the stylus support for the upcoming dual-display smartphone from the company.
It’s good to see such features on the smartphone, but, it is still unsure whether Microsoft is planning to provide the Slim Pen inside the box or if it will be available for purchase separately. Also, we are still not sure whether there will be any specific place within the tablet or cover to store the Pen, just like we’ve seen with Surface Pro X.
For those unaware, Surface Duo will be among the first few smartphones that will receive the Android 11 update. According to a report, Android 11 for Surface Duo is already in works and the company might start rolling out the update soon after Android 11 official announcement, which is expected to happen in September this year.
