Also, to play any game through GeForce Now, you must do it yourself first. These may be games you bought Steam, Uplay, Epic Or other sports stores. Although the exact amount varies depending on the graphics settings and resolution you’re playing, Nvidia estimates that gaming at 1080p 60fps can consume around 10GB of data per hour. This is much higher than Netflix’s estimate of 7GB per hour for streaming video at 4K.
Nvidia GeForce Now: How to use it in India
If you try to sign up for GeForce Now from India, you will just get the message “Not supported in your region”. A simple solution for this is to use a VPN Service. If you already use Opera Browser, then you can use the built-in VPN, or you can download a different application. For today’s tutorial, we’ll use the MacBook Air (2017) and Windshield VPN for Mac, one of the best free VPN services out there. A few years ago, you could Sign up for GeForce Now in India If you have an Nvidia Shield TV media streaming box without the need for a VPN. It even displayed pricing in Indian rupees. However, we tested it again and it seems that this option no longer exists.

Nvidia offers a free tier and a paid founders tier. For this exercise, we went with Free Tier, which gives you standard access to Nvidia’s servers and one hour of gameplay per session.
The paid subscription, which costs $ 4.99 (about Rs. 377), gets you priority access to Nvidia’s servers, meaning you can connect to the game very fast, and each session can last up to six hours. You will be able to use advanced features like ray tracing in supported games. Nvidia is offering a 90-day trial period for paid tiers, so you can take advantage of it.

Nvidia GeForce Now: Play PC Games on Mac
As we mentioned earlier, we tested GeForce Now Macbook Air (2017), which does not have very powerful hardware for gaming. Before launching the game you will need to log in to the VPN, as the app to see if you are playing from a supported region. It will also test your connection to Nvidia’s servers. It can detect a weak connection, but you can ignore it since it is on the VPN and you will disconnect it once the game starts.
You will then be asked to sign in with your Steam or Uplay account, depending on the game you choose. If you already own the game, it should start on its own. And, you will be taken to the landing page of the respective store where you can buy the game.
When launching the game via Steam, the interface is a bit clunky. It shows you the entire Steam app and you will also have to go through the process of ‘installing’ the game before launching it. The game is not actually installed on your laptop, and it goes quickly, but we wish that it was not necessary to go through it all. If you choose a UPlay title, the game will be launched directly upon signing in.
We tried hitman 2 more Far Cry 5, Which went well enough, but the experience was not the same as playing the game locally. This may be because there are no servers in Asia, and possibly because we were using Wi-Fi. There were some minor gaps when we panned the camera around, and until there was a split, there were moments when the game would freeze for a split or two, which is not ideal. . This was despite being connected to a 200Mbps internet connection and playing in the same room as the router.
Still, we were playing high-end PC games on a relatively dated and low-end Mac, and the experience was quite fun. We were able to finish the first chapter of Hitman 2 fairly easily, and Far Cry 5 was enjoyable, even though there was a slight lag at times.
Since we were on the free tier, we got a little pop-up notification alerting us that we were 30 minutes into our game, and that same pop-up showed up again, counting the times when we just had There were 10 minutes left. This gives you the opportunity to save your progress, if you can. After staying for an hour, the app will automatically boot you from the game. You can immediately try to sign back in and continue where you left off for another hour. On some occasions, we had to wait in a queue for a while before getting a new slot to start the game, but it was not a long wait.
Nvidia GeForce Now: Playing PC Games on Android Phones
With the GeForce Now app, you can also stream the same game to Android phones. The minimum requirements are that it should have at least 2 GB of RAM and Android 5 and above. Once again, the app is not available on Indian Google Play store, So you have to download the APK from other sources and sideload it. There are many sites from where you can download APK. We got this from APKTure.
Once downloaded, install it manually on your phone. If you do not already have it, you may need to enable ‘Install from unknown sources’ in your phone’s security settings. Once you launch it, just sign in and you should be greeted by a similar landing page as a desktop app, with all your games appearing at the top. Nvidia recommends using the gamepad from this list People supported. To complete the sign-in process and launch the game you will need a VPN app. The Windshield VPN app on Android works beautifully for this purpose. For better speed, remember to disable it after the game loads.
Since we don’t have controller gaming, so on gaming Realme x2 (Review) it was hard. The GeForce Now app will let you overlay an optional virtual gamepad on the screen, but it’s not easy to use, especially when it comes to camera panning. Still, watching Far Cry 5 on a smartphone was quite a treat.
