Facebook has acquired Asgard’s Wrath for the amount acquired to Sanju Games, the developer behind the best virtual reality (VR) game of 2019.
Sanzaru Games will join Facebook’s Oculus Studios as an “independently operated studio”, uploadvr.com reports.
“We are thrilled to share that Sanzaru is joining the Oculus Studio team! Together, we will continue to pursue the future of rich, immersive and original VR game content. Excited to come!” Sanju Games said in a statement.
“We can confirm that the majority of Sanzaru will join the Oculus Studio team,” Facebook said in a statement.
Facebook acquired Beat Games, the developer of the popular virtual reality rhythm game called Beat Saber, in November last year. Beat Games became part of Facebook’s VR gaming group Oculus Studios.
At its sixth Oculus Connect conference in September, Facebook shared its vision for VR and plans to build the future of computing with people at the center with new updates for the Quest VR headset.
Among the announcements was Oculus Link which allows users to connect the Quest with the PC via a USB Type-C cable, including the announcement for the Quest for Horizon and finger tracking.
The company also announced a new social experience in Facebook Horizon, VR, where anyone can build their own world with easy-to-use tools (no coding skills required).
